This page describes How to Book one of my photography packages is very simple and straightforward and generally follows the process described below.
…either by telephone or using the form on my contact page, clearly stating the package you would like to book and your preferred date, time and location. I will then get back to you with my availability and for a very quick chat to find out what you are looking for.
Once we have determined the date and time I will pencil your booking into the diary to make a provisional booking. This is not yet a confirmed booking and you are under no obligation to proceed further. You will have first refusal should I receive any other requests for that date. But, I will only be able to hold that date for you for a limited period of time. This will vary according to how far in advance you make your booking and will be longer the further away the date is. A good rule of thumb is a day per week up to a maximum of 1 week.
Your provisional booking will expire and I cannot guarantee the date will be available if you do not confirm your booking with me in time.
In order to confirm your booking you will need to pay a booking fee of £100 or 25% which ever is the greater, whilst you still have a provisional booking. This is non-refundable and is simply to cover my costs prior to your booking, e.g. studio hire, location fees, prep team’s fees etc.
Once you have paid your booking fee you will receive a confirmation email from me summarising the details of your photo-shoot. Please check this carefully and notify me as soon as possible if there is an error.
If your provisional booking has expired, please contact me before paying your booking fee to ensure the date is still available.
On the day of your photo-shoot please try to be punctual. If we are going to be working in the studio, the clock starts ticking from the moment we have booked it, not from when you arrive. This is especially important for a 2-hour shoot – if you arrive 30 minutes late we will only have 90 minutes instead of the full two hours.
After your photo-shoot your best images will be prepared for proofing. This might be in the form of a private, on-line gallery, a contact sheet, a private area on my website or indeed a zip file of low resolution images. They are normally made available to you from a couple of working days to a week after your photo-session depending on my workload so please be patient.
When you receive them, it is important to understand that they wil have had a very minimal amount of work done to them so it is important to look at them from the perspective of posing and composition when making your selection.
Once you have made your final selection you need to email me the frame numbers of the images you would like. I will then start working on retouching them to produce the finals and send you an invoice, detailing the images you have requested and the amount owing taking into account the total fee, the number of images (less any included images) and the booking fee received at step 3 above.
Unfortunately I cannot release any images until the balance of your account as shown on your invoice has been settled in full. Once payment has been received you will be able to download your images from a private page on my website and if you have ordered any hard copies they will be sent to you.
