How to Book and Order Your Images

This page describes How to Book one of my photography packages is very simple and straightforward and generally follows the process described below.

How to Book Gavin Thorn Photography…

1. Contact me…

…by telephoning my bookings hotline,  or by using one of the blue forms on this or any other page.

2. Provisional booking…

Once we have determined the date and time I will pencil your booking into the diary to make a provisional booking. This is not yet a confirmed booking and you are under no obligation to proceed further. We will hold the date for you for 24 hours and you will have first refusal should I receive any other requests for that date during this 24 hour period.

Your provisional booking will expire after 24 hours and we cannot guarantee the date will be available if you do not confirm your booking with me in time.

3. Confirmation of Booking…

Your provisional booking can only be confirmed on payment of your booking fee. The amount will typically be between 25% and 40% of the cost of your shoot. Please note that your booking fee is non-refundable.

Once you have paid your booking fee you will receive a confirmation email from me summarising the details of your photo-shoot. Please check this carefully and notify me as soon as possible if there is an error.

If your provisional booking has expired, please contact me before paying your booking fee to ensure the date is still available.

4. Your Photo-Shoot…

On the day of your photo-shoot please be punctual. If we are going to be working in the studio, the clock starts ticking from the time we have booked it for, not from when you arrive. This is especially important for a 2-hour shoot – if you arrive 30 minutes late we will only have 90 minutes instead of the full two hours.

5. Proofing…

After your photo-shoot your best images will be prepared for proofing. This might be in the form of a private, on-line gallery, a contact sheet, a private area on my website or a zip file of low resolution images. They are normally made available to you within a week of your photo-session. Larger shoots that generate a higher volume of images may take up to 2 weeks before your proofs are ready for viewing..

When you receive them, it is important to understand that they wil have had a very minimal amount of work done to them so it is important to look at them from the perspective of posing and composition when making your selection.

6. Ordering…

Once you have made your final selection please enter the frame numbers of your chosen images onto yor order form and return it to me. They will then be retouched to produce the finals. Meanwhile you will receive an invoice for the balance of your shoot and any additional images you’ve chosen.

7. Payment and Delivery of Images…

Your final payment will be due when you receive your invoice. Once your payment has been made, your images will be released to you. Unfortunately we cannot release any images without final payment being recieved
